- Coat
It’s pretty obvious but a thick, padded, warm coat is absolutely crucial. I have a Parka with a hood that I usually wear up. - Hat
I have quite a few beanie hats, and the one pictured above has a thermal lining. - Scarf
You have to keep your neck warm, obvs. - Gloves
I have various gloves and I particularly like leather if it’s raining as they don’t get soaked. Thin thermal gloves underneath leather is also a must. - Socks
Thick, fluffy, preferably thermal socks – my feet get so icy cold. - Blanket
I thought I’d look like a little old woman with a blanket but it’s seriously worth it to keep the chill away. I also plan on investing in a wheelchair cosy, which is pretty much a sleeping bag for your wheelchair with a fleece lining – it’ll be perfect for winter. - Heat pads/hot water bottle
I swear by Cura-Heat, they stick over clothing and stay hot for eight hours - *Buffs
This multi-functional headwear is lightweight and breathable. It can be worn in a variety of ways, cap, mask, scarf, neckerchief, to name a few. I like wearing it as another scarf underneath my conventional scarf, and if I get too cold, will pull it up over my mouth to keep my face warm. - Thermals/tights/leggings
Wearing double layers is highly recommended.
Do you have any wheelchair essentials that I have missed off my list?

Such a helpful post & I'm so excited for your power chair! I'll definitely be referring back to this in the future. Xx

Your scarf and gloves are so cute! And who cares if you look like an old woman with a blanket? If it keeps you warm… I have no idea what buffs is though…

I can highly recommend the cosy toes for the chair. I got mine for Christmas and it's SO comfy!
I can't wear a coat because my shoulders are bad, so I have lots of shawls and ponchos and a wheelchair raincoat instead. Oh I really look like an old lady. But a warm and dry old lady 😉
After getting my powerchair, I also invested in a double cup holder (it's like a little fold out tray) and a pannier bag. The bag let's me get to my stuff without needing to ask which is a big bonus.
Yay for your chair!

Glad you found it helpful x
Thanks. Buffs is another way of keeping warm x
Great, thank you x
Oh I love the sound of the cura-heat pads! I get really bad period pain and end up hunched over my desk at work clinging onto a hot water bottle but these sound like they will be much better and more discreet!
