My February favourites consisted of all things Stila, including the Aqua Glow Watercolour blush in Water Lily, but I thought I’d give a more in-depth review since I’m absolutely obsessed with the two colours I have.
I luckily won £300 worth of Stila goodies from Beauty Bay a few months ago and got to try some products that I’d wanted to test out for a while, the blushers being one of them.
I have two colours, Water Blossom and Water Lily. Water Blossom is a pinky violet shade that quite frankly scared the living daylights out of me when I opened it. It has a very blue undertone that I wasn’t sure I would like as it reminds me of Barbie; but it actually comes off a light rosy pink that gives a natural flush to the cheeks. Water Lily is my favourite out of the two, it’s a rosy coral that can get intense if you use too much. I think I’ll be getting a lot of use out of Water Lily during the warmer months as it’s a perfect Spring/Summer blush.
Both colours are buildable, highly pigmented and easy to blend out. I use my Real Techniques Stippling brush to apply the blusher to my cheeks, and blend out with my damp Beauty Blender if I get colour happy and apply too much.
The unique thing about these blushers is the formula, they’re a water-based gel so a lot of pigment is picked up. In the pot there is a mesh cushion that releases product when shaken or pressed. Attached to the inside of the lid, there is a piece that fits into the mesh so no product is lost and there is no mess; as a neat-freak, I appreciate this. It makes these blushers very easy to travel with. And when the product transfers to the lid, you can apply colour directly from there.
Due to the formula the Aqua Glow blushers leave a natural luminous glow on the cheeks, without any shimmer or glitter particles. It’s very lightweight and can be worn very sheer or built up for a more intense pop of colour. It’s just a healthy, natural glow that I simply adore. It’s such a pretty blush to wear with ‘no makeup, makeup’ looks. Not only that but as it’s liquid-based, it is very long-wearing; if I apply it in the morning, it is still going strong in the evening and looks as good as when freshly applied. I can’t rave about these enough, I’m in love.
As you can see Water Lily is much more pigmented than Water Blossom, but they’re both so pretty on my fair skin. There’s 5 shades in the collection and I highly recommend giving them a try, especially as we’re heading into Spring.
Have you tried Stila Aqua Glow Watercolour Blushers?

These look amazing! I recently bought the Stila Colour Convertible in Peony & love it, so I'll definitely be giving these a try as soon as I'm able. The packaging sounds ideal & I'm really intrigued by the formula. Both gorgeous shades too! Xx
