I’ve always been a lover of perfume. I remember during my teens I was obsessed with Davidoff – Cool Water, and wouldn’t wear anything else. That stuff was my jam. I can’t for the life of me remember how it smells now but I have a feeling it wouldn’t appeal to me.
I go through phases with fragrances; at the moment I can’t stop wearing YSL Mon Paris, I featured it in my August Favourites, and I’m still very much in love.
I like floral, feminine scents with musk, vanilla or patchouli notes – a combination of all never goes a miss. I always go for Eau de Parfum (EDP) as it has a higher concentration of perfume oil and therefore the fragrance will usually last longer on the skin. You’ll also notice that EDP’s are often more expensive than an EDT (Eau de toilette) and this is why; the EDT has a less concentration of perfume oil. I like my scents to last; I want to spray it of a morning and still be able to smell it on my body later in the evening. I don’t mind paying a little more for this.
