Nars Sheer Glow Foundation – Siberia | £31 | Link |
I know, I know, I’m late to the party, everyone on earth has tried this foundation and I’m only just getting round to it. Don’t judge me, okay? I’ll tell you why I haven’t tried it before, two words: SHEER GLOW. I have combination skin with a fairly oily T-zone so this Nars foundation scared me. Surely it wasn’t going to suit my skin type? Not only that, I like a matte or demi-matte finish to my base and given the name of the product and the reviews I’d read that highlighted (see what I did there) how dewy and glowy the Sheer Glow is, I stayed well clear. I’m a fan of highlighting products but I don’t want my whole face to shine bright like a diamond.
Why did I pick it up then? Well, my combination skin has become very dry and dehydrated lately, my drawer full of foundations were bought for my normal/oily days so weren’t looking great. I’d heard great things about Sheer Glow so thought I’d give it a go and see whether it suited me when I’m dry.
Here’s something to keep in mind – this foundation is a satin finish, it’s not exceptionally dewy, it’s beautiful. It has a light to medium coverage that is buildable and my preferred method of application is using my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki as it gives a flawless finish.
I obviously had to go for the lightest shade, Siberia which is Light – with neutral balance of pink and yellow undertones. I really like this colour for my skin tone and Nars have a wide range of colours available. I usually find that most light foundations are too pink but Siberia is perfect for me.
One thing that annoys me is that there is no pump with this foundation. I mean, come on Nars, I’ve paid £31 for a foundation, at least give me a pump. I hate having to buy one separately, and although I did, because I dislike pouring product on my hand as I can never gauge how much I need, it should come with a bloody pump. The Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation comes with a pump so if you fancy that one, good pump times. However, when I was at the Nars counter, I tried both Sheer Glow and All Day Luminous and the latter immediately picked up on my dry patches and looked awful.
I’ve owned Sheer Glow for approximately three weeks and I’m obsessed. I’ve worn it everyday and I can unequivocally say it has reached holy grail status. ‘Too soon?’ I hear you ask. Not at all, it’s gorgeous, it looks stunning and the longevity is next to none. I wore it to a wedding a few weeks ago, it lasted eight hours with no touch-ups and still looked flawless by the end of the night. I always set it with powder and it doesn’t budge
I love, love, love Nars Sheer Glow.
