In Nottingham a few weeks ago, I took full advantage of the Yankee Candle store, as you can tell. I always buy the sample sizes before purchasing a large jar so I can test out how they burn and whether I like the scent; I then head straight over eBay and buy the large jars as they’re quite a bit cheaper.

Clean Cotton – is fresh and smells lovely but when it burns there is literally no scent; none whatsoever, it’s weird. I won’t be repurchasing.

Summer Scoop – imagine the smell of strawberry ice cream at an ice cream parlour; sweet, delicious, nom. I haven’t ‘set this on fire,’ (as my nephew says) yet but hope it’s incredible.

My Serenity – new for Spring, this is a subtle concoction of florals and musk, which I really like.

Pineapple Cilantro – when I picked this up, I had to have it, it smells absolutely amazing, it’s a mixture of citrus and coconut that I simply adore. I haven’t lit it yet but it’s already on my eBay Watch list.

Mandarin Cranberry – had this so many times and I bought a votive because I miss it. It’s very sweet, tangy and makes the whole house smell incredible.

Shea Butter – one of my all-time favourites, I’ve had a large jar and many votives, I love it. You need to get this if you like Shea butter.

Pink Sands – I used to buy this candle all the time but my heart was taken by others. However, it’s still lovely; once again, florally, sweet with a hint of vanilla. 

Egyptian Musk – musk + vanilla = in love. I’m surprised there’s not more vanilla scents on here as it’s one of my favourites.

I highly suggest buying the sampler votive candles before splashing out on the larger jars as you can try loads of different scents. They burn for up to 15 hours and some are much stronger than others.

    That's such a good idea! I've never thought of buying samples before committing to a bit jar. Clean cotton, summer scoop and Egyptian musk sound amazing! X

    Ooh, the mandarin and cranberry one sounds amazing. I'm a huge fan of sharp and citrusy smells, so that definitely sounds like my jam! The jars always seem a bit pricey, so I'll definitely be giving one of the votives a try!

    Summer Scoop and Pineapple Cilantro sound like two scents I neeeeed in my life??? Might have to find some of the samples myself. Mandarin Cranberry is one I think I also might have to try, even though I'm not the most candle-type person in the world! Lovely scent summaries 😀
