I’m not a newbie to Mac, I’m an addict, I own a variety of nudes, numerous berries and the odd red.
I thought I’d share some staple lipsticks that any Mac lipstick lover must have in their collection.
A make up counter can be quite an intimidating place; especially the Mac lipstick counter, all the different colours and formulas staring up at you hoping you pick them. Where do you start?
I’m going to give you the low-down on five Mac lipsticks to start off your collection and make you ready for any season, any occasion.
In my opinion, you need a nude, a nude pink, a red, a bright and a vampy colour.

Myth – Satin, neutral nude
I’m a huge fan of Myth, I was concerned that it wouldn’t suit my skin tone but it’s beautiful. It looks like a nude peach on me and it can be manipulated with different lip liners. Recently I’ve been topping it with Nars Chelsea Girls lip gloss.
Impassioned – Amplified Creme, fuchsia
I used to shy away from colours like this but I’m obsessed with Impassioned; it has Summer written all over it. It’d look great on any skin tone and is really comfortable to wear.
Cyber – Satin, blackish-purple
Now, this might not be everyone’s cup of tea as it is really dark and I feel gothic and witchy when I wear it. It transports me right back to my Emo days. It’s such a cool colour and because it’s a satin finish, it has a gorgeous sheen so doesn’t look flat on the lips.
Russian Red – Matte, blue-red
I’m a lover of orangey-reds, they’re my jam lately but Russian Red was calling my name. I swatched it three times before I bought it as I don’t wear blue-red’s that often. However, it’s the ultimate Hollywood/Marilyn red and due to the matte formula, it has great longevity.
Creme Cup – Cremesheen, light pink
This is my second Creme Cup bullet as I love it so much. It can be worn every day or paired with an intense smoky eye. If you love nude pinks and don’t own Creme Cup – you need to change that at once.
