I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I love candles. Everyone that comes into our house comments on the amount I have scattered around the room; they’re on most surfaces. I don’t care, they smell good and I like them, so why not?
Alas, this post isn’t about candles as such, although Simple Candle Co, do also sell candles, I’ll be telling you all about their absolutely amazing wax melts.
I was sent four to try and as soon as I opened the box a concoction of incredible aromas slapped me around the face. I obviously began sniffing them all frantically to decipher which was my favourite. As I’m a coconut lover, I thought Pina Colada would steal my heart, but surprisingly I’m all about Thai Lime and Mango. I put that in my oil burner first and the scent filled the house.
You can break up the wax melt before adding it to your burner, or use the full melt, just be careful not to overfill it, safety first, guys. I don’t do anything by halves, so add the whole melt to my burner, burn a tea light underneath, and voila, the little unscented candle melts the wax and unleashes the scenty-goodness.
Apparently the wax melts burn for approximately 20 hours, but mine have been going for so much longer than that. My tea lights burn for about 4 hours, I usually light two to three a day, and the melts last well over two weeks – so, yeah, you do the maths.
The wax melts cost £2 and come in a variety of scents. I tried Pina Colada, Beach Dreams, Rhubarb and Blackberry, and Thai Lime and Mango. Simple Candle Co are based in London and use soy wax as it’s natural and vegan-friendly. Wax melts are fab if you want to trial a scented candle before you buy the larger size. Since they heat up really quickly, they give off fragrance right away. For some reason, I find it really relaxing watching the wax melt, I probably need to get a hobby.
Simple Candle Co also have a subscription box (which my Mum has signed up for). Each month you get 8 wax melts for just £10 delivered to your door, and postage is included. RRP would be £18.95 – so that’s pretty bloody marvellous.
If you haven’t heard of Simple Candle Co – check them out, their products are such good quality, and they have lots of lovely scents to choose from.
* Disclaimer: I was sent these items free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I received no payment for this post and all opinions are 100% my own.
