I’m not going to lie, it took me a while to pick out five products that I’d been loving last month because my go-to for my faves is makeup. I’ve usually fallen in love with something new or plucked something out of a drawer that has been in there a while and I’ve had a new affair with. But because I’ve spent a lot of time (like a shit load of time; I’ve barely seen the outside world) in a lot of pain, I’ve not bothered getting dressed, let alone putting any makeup on. I have however been taking care of my skin and taken a fancy to some oldies but goodies.
Lush The Comforter Shower Cream | Discontinued |
I’ve been inside Lush so many times and it wasn’t until a few months ago (maybe two months) that I actually bought my first ever lot of products. I realise I’m hella late to the party, I’ve seen people praise Lush all over the place but every time I went to the store, I was always completely overwhelmed. I didn’t know where to look, I didn’t know what everything was, what it did. I just had no clue. I also couldn’t exactly ask anyone because I didn’t know what I wanted. To cut my ranting down, I went into the Northampton store and explained how clueless I was, and one of the amazing assistants gave me a full shop tour, including hand masks, massage and soak – it was bloody amazing. I came out with a bag full of products and some massive samples.
I almost wish I hadn’t fallen in love with The Comforter shower cream because I soon learned that it was to be discontinued. I know, I know, I probably shouldn’t have included it in my favourites post but when I posted on Instagram a lot of people didn’t know about it leaving the shelves, so not only am I paying homage to it, I’m informing people of this great loss. Anyway the scent of this blackcurrant deliciousness is to die for. I immediately fell for it. It’s so rich and creamy, it leaves the skin soft and the bathroom smelling incredible. I made sure I stocked up on it because I need it in my life. The Bubble Bar is still available so nab that if you’re a fan of The Comforter.
Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb EDP 50ml | £73 | Debenhams |
I’m pretty sure I have featured this perfume in a favourites post before, and I also wrote a full review which you can read here. I’ll admit that I’m a perfume hoarder, I always have been. I adored fragrances before makeup and I’d say it’s still up there as one of my favourite things. Both my brother and I love smelling good. His cologne collection is absolutely ridiculous and he always smells amazing. Mine is pretty vast but over the last few months I’ve been quite loyal to Lancome La Vie Est Belle and YSL Mon Paris. Well, that was until my nephew wanted me to wear Flowerbomb last month. And since then I’ve worn nothing else. It’s a sexy, floral scent that stays for hours on the skin. If you’ve not spritzed this, you need to go and give it a go.
Bravura Azulene Moisturiser* | £9.90 | Bravura London |
This moisturiser is everything I want in a face cream, it’s emollient, non-greasy, it soaks into the skin quickly and it’s SO affordable. It’s also changed my skin (as well as the other Bravura products I’m loving lately – full review here). I’ve had no breakouts (and I can’t tell you the last time I was spot-less), my skin is glowing, it looks healthy, fresh and I’ve actually left the house without makeup – which I never do. If you have problem skin, suffer with inflammation or redness, you need to try this. It’s amazing.
Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! Clear Brow Gel | £20 | Benefit |
My brows have been a little bit of a disaster as I don’t trust anyone where I live to do them; I’ve tried quite a few places and they’re not for me (Nic, I need ya). So, I’ve been taming them with this cement-like product that is a bloody miracle in a cute little tube. If you have unruly brows or are between waxes, this stuff is like glue. It sets really quickly and your brows aren’t going anywhere. The size of the wand is perfect too.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Exfoliating Scrub* | £4.55 | iHerb|
I’ve been using this gentle exfoliator on my face in the shower and it’s really good at removing any dead skin cells and leaving the skin smooth and glowing. The formula is quite thick but it softens as soon as it’s rubbed between the fingers. There’s no sulphates, parabens or phthalates, and it’s infused with vitamin E. What I like most about this product is that although it is removing dead cells, it is also very hydrating and doesn’t leave the skin dry and in desperate need of moisturiser – although I obviously add that after I’ve washed it off. It’s such a good scrub for an affordable price. Definitely check it out.
I love the scent of the Comforter from Lush, I need to pick up another bottle I haven't used it in so long and this has reminded me just how much I love it!
