October has been a month of all kinds of emotions; it’s been busy and I’ve cried a lot but it’s also been absolutely amazing. I reached my £5000 target for my powerchair in 26 days, I was interviewed for ITV News Anglia, and I was featured in my local newspaper – lets just say that I got about last month.
I fell in love with some new products and rekindled a fire with one that I haven’t used in a while, so let’s get right into it.
I’ve only had this brush for a week but I already love it so much. I’m a big fan of the Original Tangle Teezer but I find it really difficult to hold and as my hair is thick I have to separate it into so many smaller sections to brush it; now I ain’t got time for that! With this brush the teeth are long enough to smooth out my hair in one swipe. It’s absolutely perfect for long, thick hair. It’s also said to make blow-drying much quicker and funnily enough it cut down drying by quite a lot, I’m not too sure what magical powers it has but it’s a miracle worker. I don’t only use it when I’m drying my hair, this is my go-to hairbrush now. It’s a large paddle brush that smooths out my hair so well. I love it.
Mandara Spa Amber Heaven Hand Cream (part of gift set)* | £17 | Time to Spa |
Oh. My. God. This hand cream smells absolutely incredible, so much so, my boyfriend uses it because he loves it too. If you could make Bali a scent, this is what it’d be. It’s so luxurious, so moisturising and soaks into the hands quickly. It’s everything I want in a hand cream.
Last month it was all about Anna but this month Brigitte has won me over again. It’s a soft nude rose with a peachy undertone that is so subtle and perfect for every occasion. Nars Audacious lippies have been my favourite formula since they released and it’s going to take something incredible to knock them off their pedestal. They’re really long-wearing, comfortable and pigmented. If you haven’t tried these, go do it.
I’ve been using this oil for almost two months and I’m really impressed. It’s a light facial oil that hydrates, strengthens and protects the skin, giving an all-day dewiness. After a few days of applying this I noticed how glowing and healthy my skin looked. It smells really good and doesn’t leave the face greasy. I’ve been using it every night before my moisturiser and my skin has never looked better.
Mandara Spa Lip Butter – Shea* | £2.50 | Time to Spa |
I go through so many lip balms as my lips get incredibly dry; speaking of, I’ve literally just applied some lip butter! I got a set of three Mandara Spa lip butters and the Shea one is everything. It smells bloody marvellous (as does the coconut)! I usually go for balms in a push/wind-up tube but the consistency of these butters are quite hard so they don’t go everywhere and don’t leave you with more balm on your fingers than your lips. It’s really moisturising and adds much needed hydration to my lips. I can see me using this a lot over the colder months. Definitely pick these up if you want to try a new lip balm, they’re available in Sainsbury’s.
What were you loving in October?

Firstly I want to say a massive congrats on raising the money for your powerchair – I bet you're elated. I love hearing about things like this, it somewhat restores my faith in humanity.
Anyway, back to your favourites. I also have the Tangle Teezer styling brush and I agree that it is amazing for thick unruly hair. It did take me a bit of getting used to as the bristles are solid and I kept bashing my scalp but that's just my clumsiness haha.
I might have to give that Tangle Teezer brush a go, cos I can never keep hold of the small one because my hairs so thick! That NARS lipstick is gorgeous too, I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't own one!!
I need this hairbrush. Drying and brushing my hair is my least favourite thing in life. Also I think I'm going to have to take the plunge and get a NARS lipstick in my life Beth x Mermaid in Disguise
