Nip+Fab have recently extended their line and released a large selection of makeup that I knew I had to get my hands on. I popped into Northampton a few weeks ago and the Nip+Fab stand in Superdrug was pristine, with not a fingerprint in sight; very dissimilar to the Nyx display in Boots that looked like a group of toddlers were using it for finger painting. Anyway, I decided to be restrained (I don’t know who I am anymore) and only picked up three products; the white foundation mixer, and two liquid lipsticks.
First off, I was really impressed with the extent of the line; there’s a lot of choice, with contour palettes for various skin tones, ten foundation shades with two mixers (light and dark), concealers, lipsticks, brow products, etc. It really is a wide range and I certainly plan on picking up a few more bits as the powders that I swatched all felt really nice.
Nip+Fab Foundation – Light Mixer | £12.95 | Superdrug |
I live for my The Body Shop Lightening Drops; I have no problem being pale, I love my skin tone but buying foundations is a bit of a pain in the arse. They’re either too yellow, too pink, not fair enough or I hate the formula. So anything that is going to help out little Casper over here is a bonus. My only slight issue with TBS drops is they aren’t completely white, they have a pink undertone and not everyone wants that. This mixer from Nip+Fab, however, does not, they are completely white, not a pink or yellow undertone in sight.
The mixer doesn’t alter the coverage or consistency of your foundation, it simply lightens it. I have tried it with a variety of foundations and it hasn’t affected anything but the colour, which is exactly what I want. I really like this product and have been using it every time I’ve applied makeup for the last month. It’s slightly more expensive than The Body Shop drops but it doesn’t have the pink undertone so it’s up to you which one you go for.
Nip+Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick – Tart | £7.95 | Superdrug |
Nip+Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick – Pink Lemonade | £7.95 | Superdrug |
Okay, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while or follow me on any of my social media platforms, you’ll know my love of liquid lipstick is so beyond real. Liquid lipstick is my favourite. I like to think I’m a liquid lipstick connoisseur, and when I find a formula I love, I buy ALL the shades.
Nip+Fab’s liquid lipstick shades spoke to me, I could almost hear them calling to me in my dreams (I’m taking this too far, aren’t I?) and I knew I needed to nab some. They released ten stunning shades with various undertones, ranging from hella nude to chocolatey brown. If you’re looking for a bright pink or red, you’re going to have to look elsewhere as it seems Nip+Fab are all about muted colours.
I swatched a few on my hand in the shop and went with Tart, a very nude beige, and Pink Lemonade, a dusty pink-brown. I seem to gravitate towards dusty rose shades so wasn’t surprised I ended up with that, but Tart is very nude and as I’m extremely fair I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. I wore Tart a few days later and as I was applying it to my lips I didn’t like it. In all honesty, I was considering wiping it off and putting Pink Lemonade on but after a minute or so staring myself down in the mirror it grew on me and I left the house wearing it. The two colours are nice, I really liked them…and unfortunately the colours are all I liked.
The pigment of the Nip+Fab liquid lipsticks are decent, they take a few swipes for full opacity but I don’t really mind that. The thing with these liquid lipsticks is they don’t dry down completely and are so incredibly tacky it’s annoying. Every time I spoke or pressed my lips together they’d do that horrible stick-together thing and I hated it. The tackiness didn’t disappear the whole time I wore the lipstick and after a few hours I had to take it off because it was uncomfortable. I applied translucent powder over the top of it when I tried it for a second time but it didn’t help.
The liquid lipsticks also aren’t as transfer-proof as they claim, which is what I expect from a matte liquid lipstick. I want to know I can wear them for hours, expect minimal or no fading, and kiss my boyfriend without covering him in lippie.
Lastly, they’re more of a demi-matte finish than a full matte. This isn’t an issue with me; if they performed well and weren’t the stickiest lipsticks I’ve ever put on my lips, I’d let that slide but I thought I’d mention it in case you’re all for that matte life.
If you hadn’t already guessed it, I definitely won’t be buying any more of the Nip+Fab liquid lipsticks. Obviously this is my personal experience and you may love these lippies but the formula did not work for me.
It's so annoying when a product doesn't live up to it's expectations. I wouldn't like the liquid lipsticks either, I hate tacky feeling liquid lipsticks too and like you I love me a liquid lipstick xxx

Oh wow the formulations of these liquid lipsticks do not sound good at all.. such a shame i'll defo be giving these a miss then.. I really can't stand when liquid lipsticks aren't transfer proof as if they dry super matte I expect them not to move from my lips

I love the products that I have tried from the Nip & Fab skincare line, but am yet to try much of the makeup range. Their eyeshadow palette looks so pretty. x

Yeh, they're just awful. I'm surprised I've not chucked them already x
Same, I like them to dry down completely and not budge but these are just horrible x
I was contemplating the eyeshadow palette but I have so many similar ones x
Such a shame x
