Ever keep hearing hype about a product and take a while to find out why everyone is raving about it? I swear every YouTuber I watch fell in love with Laura Geller’s Baked Gelato highlighter in Gilded Honey when it was first released. Being Casper’s paler sister, I can’t wear gold, and although Ballerina is a lighter, it still seemed a tad too warm for me. But then came Charming Pink and all my prayers (I don’t pray) were answered.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator – Charming Pink | £21 | Debenhams |
First off, let’s talk packaging – this beautiful little highlighter comes in a plastic compact with a clear lid. It seems a few influencers were underwhelmed with this but I quite like it because you can clearly see the sexy (yes, I said sexy – challenge me, I dare you) swirl embossing; and if you have more than one colour can easily grab the shade you want. Apparently the design will last the life of the highlighter too, but only time will tell.
Charming Pink is a soft pearl pink with a luminous finish. It is a powder formula with hybrid texture as it feels like cream on the skin. The silky lightweight consistency makes it extremely easy to blend and applies like a dream. I don’t find that it emphasises any pores or texture and it doesn’t leave any chunky glitter particles on my face. I found it wore for approximately eight hours before beginning to fade, and I think the lasting power is so good because of the hybrid formulation.
I place it on the high points of my face using a fluffy brush and the pigmentation is buildable. If you wanted the ‘glow from within’ subtle look, or the ‘see me from space’ blinding glow, you can achieve either with this illuminator. If you know me, I’m all about the intense glow.
The Baked Gelato is ideal for all skin types and available in a range of colours for various skin tones.
I definitely recommend Charming Pink if you’re fair to light, it’s so pretty and I can’t get enough. I have a feeling Peach Glow will be coming home with me very soon.
I love the Laura Geller Highlighters and Gilded honey is a favourite of mine! This looks gorgeous too! Is it wrong that I would use it as an Eyeshadow? Haha x
I am a highlighter junkie! There is no limit of buying highlighter in my opinion. Recently I did Spring make-up lessons , I heard Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey one there, from a friend of mine. I bought this and this is so awesome!
