Omg how long has January gone on for? I could have sworn it’s only meant to be 31 days not 31 years! But we are finally seeing the end and I’m so incredibly glad as it’s been a rollercoaster of a month for me. I have had some pretty awesome news though but I think I’ll dedicate a whole post to that.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips – Dolly Bird | £24 | Charlotte Tilbury |
I popped to Milton Keynes a few weeks ago and found a Charlotte Tilbury stand had opened in John Lewis. I couldn’t contain my excitement and nearly rammed my wheelchair into one of the displays as I was so happy to see it there. As it was almost my birthday, I decided to treat myself to a liquid lipstick and a powder. The assistant applied the lippie in Dolly Bird for me so I could check out whether it suited me and before she’d even finished my top lip, I knew it was coming home with me.
Dolly Bird is a matte, cool-toned nude pink that is perfect for everyday wear. It’s (and I can almost hear my bank account sobbing) one of my new favourite formulas, it’s so comfortable to wear, it doesn’t bleed, transfer or smudge and it’s really pigmented. The formula is a moussey consistency and I didn’t think I’d like it but it’s so weightless and dries really quickly. I fear I may need to buy more colours. Definitely give them a go.
Nuvet – White* | £120 | Nuvet |
If you’re reading that and think I’ve misspelled ‘duvet’ you are sadly mistaken, my friends.
I was contacted by the lovely Nadine a few weeks ago and she popped her product that I was extremely intrigued about in the post for me to try. As soon as I unwrapped the item, I instantly moved straight to bed and had a snuggle because just the feel of it made me want to get into a cosy position and have a nap. And obviously, I did have a nap because I’m all about that nap life.
Anyway, let me tell you what the Nuvet actually is. It’s ‘a duvet with an integral cover; that can be washed as a complete unit, omitting the need for an external cover.’ Now, for someone like me that hasn’t changed bed covers in years (don’t worry, my bed doesn’t stink, the boyfriend changes the sheets) because I physically can’t do it, this is amazing. There’s absolutely no cover required, it’s light, it’s 6.2 togs (which, might I add, is the most bloody perfect thickness), and it’ll pop straight into the washing machine. Not only that but it is made in Milan, Italy, is 100% Egyptian cotton outer, 100% Climashield inner filling, and did I mention cosy? Plus, there’s a variety of colours to choose from. At the moment they’re only available in single sizes but as I’m a duvet hog (so he says, I don’t believe him) it’s great to have my own duvet without stealing *rolls eyes* the double one on our bed. The price might seem off-putting but when you factor in the cost of a decent duvet and a few sets of bedding, it is totally worth it. Plus, if you’re disabled, elderly or just shit at changing your covers this is definitely the answer. I’m a fan.
L’Occitane Hand Cream by Rifle Paper Co – Shea and Rose | £8 | L’Occitane |
I haven’t got an awful lot of L’Occitane products because I always felt quite overwhelmed whenever I went to a store. They’re always so pristine and I’m socially awkward so would just have a little look and then scarper. But when I saw that they’d collaborate with my bae, Rifle Paper Co, I knew I had to get my hands moisturised with these beautifully packaged babes. I can never get another hand cream ever again as these from L’Occitane are just too amazing. They’re thick, emollient and soak into the hands quickly, leaving them all kinds of soft. Go try them.
FYI I have a Rifle Paper Co giveaway over on Twitter, it ends Feb 4th, just share my pinned tweet.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist | £18 | Pixi |
After my gal, Beth got this, I added it to my wishlist because we like the majority of the same things. I have pretty normal/combination skin with the odd dry patches so am always happy for anything that will give me a hydration boost. I’ve wanted to try Pixi for ages and kept putting it off but finally got some stuff a few weeks ago, including this (obvs) and I love it. It doesn’t add a shit-load of moisture but it certainly refreshes the face, is really lightweight and I find it pretty effective. I drench myself (like ten sprays, if not more) in this morning (who am I kidding, I don’t do mornings) and night, and during the day if I fancy it. I’d definitely repurchase.
Guerlain Mon Guerlain 50ml EDP | £68 | Debenhams |
I got this for Christmas from my brother and his fiancee after adding it to every wish list I could and telling everyone how much I needed it in my life. I’ve worn nothing since Christmas day and you could say I’m obsessed with it. The notes are Carla lavender, Sambac jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla. It’s a sexy, sensual, deep fragrance that lingers on the skin. I love it so much, I wish you could scratch and sniff the screen because it’s so good. I think I might have found my signature scent. If you haven’t tried it go and get a sample you will not be disappointed.
There's a CT stand in MK??! Say Whaaaaaa? I'll be heading there! xx
Yeh, it's beautiful
