*Disclaimer: This post is extremely photo heavy
Last week I was invited to the opening of the brand spanking new House of Fraser *bows* at Rushden Lakes. I wasn’t planning on going on opening day as I knew it’d be packed but a brand asked me to show up and I couldn’t say no.

Rushden Lakes is a new leisure park that is practically on my doorstep. At the moment there’s a pretty vast retail park with some amazing stores (Primark, Boots, New Look, H&M, Accessorize, Paperchase and more) a few cafes, a huge lake (obvs) that you can go out on, and an outdoor play area. My boyfriend and I have been there quite a few times and it’s only been open a month but the setting is really lovely and it’s nice to have a walk around. Plus the home section in Primark is bloody marvellous.
Phases 2 and 3 are due to open in early 2019 with a multiplex cinema, indoor rock climbing, trampolining and adventure golf. As well as lots of fab restaurants and even more stores. It’s going to be quite the complex when it’s complete.
Anyway, I want to show you the Beauty Hall in House of Fraser because it made me weak at the knees; I’m glad I was sat in my wheelchair because I was buzzin’ my arse off when I saw the brands that I’m practically neighbours with now.

Yes, well hello there Deciem, you stars. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I got a glimpse of The Ordinary in all it’s glory. The counter is so cool and industrial, the assistant was an absolute babe and we had a chinwag all about the brand. She said nobody she’d spoken to that day had heard of them but I told her I was wearing the Serum foundation – beauty blogger innit? Plug – read my review of The Ordinary foundations here.

Seriously though, the assistant (and I wish I could remember her name) was so sweet and wrote my site address down to check it out (hello, if you’re reading). She was so informative, helpful and genuinely passionate. So happy to have a Deciem stand in HOF.

Pretty Spectrum brushes! I already have the pink set and you can check out my review here.

It was Tony Moly that invited me to the store opening but when I got there the rep at the counter had no idea I was coming. I emailed the PR agency as I was there and they apologised and sent me a goody bag so I can’t complain. I was so intrigued by all the different skincare, especially the masks and I plan on stocking up on them very soon. My goody bag contained that banana sleeping mask and the beige egg which is a tightening, cooling pack, along with a BB Cream that isn’t pictured. Am yet to try them but shall be sure to report back.

So much Pixi to choose from. Kicking myself that I didn’t bring the Hydrating Milky Mist home but it’s only around the corner, I can go and get it this week if I’m desperate. I’ve never tried anything by Pixi so if you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments pretty please.

And then there was every kind of Starskin mask you could wish for. I literally went ape shit buying sheet masks the previous week so once I’ve used them all, I know where I’m heading.

Then all the brands you’d expect to see, Dior, Nars, Bobbi Brown, Mac, Benefit…And those not photographed; Estee Lauder, Lancome, Guerlain, Clinique, Urban Decay, Chanel and more.
Also, the assistants at the Guerlain counter might just be my new best friends. Lisa was incredibly enthusiastic about the brand; she told me it’s origins, a story about the first perfume for Napoleon’s wife to help her migraines, how Angelina Jolie chose Mon Guerlain, and so much more. I could have chatted to her for hours, she brightened my day and made me feel really special. She also gave me a mini bottle of Mon Guerlain (as well as the standard sample) which is a stunning fragrance but the replica bottle in miniature size is just the cutest.

AND lastly, this bloody amazing Stila counter!!! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know how much I adore Stila and there’s never a decent counter with all their products. But now there is and it’s so clean and sleek, I want to move in. Every swatch on my hand was from this counter and somehow I didn’t buy a thing. Look at those liquid lipsticks *sighs*

I was extremely well behaved and only bought two things, both from The Ordinary and adding up to £9. I don’t actually know what came over me, had someone else taken control of my body? I was in the store for almost three hours and spent less than a tenner. I’m a changed woman. Well, we’ll see how long that lasts.

All in all the House of Fraser at Rushden Lakes is amazing, if you live nearby definitely check it out.

Rushden Lakes is literally 5 minutes from my house. I've loved it so far but have avoided the new House of Fraser for a few days because I knew it would be RAMMED.
I was hoping to check it out today; but I had no idea they had all this amazing stuff. I'm buzzing they have The Ordinary.. that stuff is rare and practically impossible to get hold of!
