I must admit, I’ve not worn a lot of makeup this month because I’ve been in a bad pain flare. And then my skin was awful, and to top it all off, the last two weeks I’ve had colossal cold sores. There’s nothing more of a deterrent to cosmetics than a scabby face and mouth. But there’s still a few new (and one not-so new) things I’ve had a little love affair with.
Apple iPhone 7 32gb – Rose Gold | Contract | EE |
I was finally due an upgrade last week and I’m completely in love with my new phone. I’ve been an iPhone user since iPhone became a thing and I’d never get anything else; so as soon as my contract was over, I jumped on the rose gold bandwagon and I’m very happy with my pretty new mobile. I had to include it in my faves because it’s pretty and shiny and new! Oh and the camera is bloody incredible.
Benefit Rockateur Blusher | £24.50 | Benefit |
I recently pulled this out again and forgot just how much I love it. It’s a beautiful rose gold (are you sensing a theme? I swear it’s accidental) powder that looks like it’d transfer glitter particles to the cheeks but I’m not about that life and luckily it doesn’t. The shimmer leaves a gorgeous luminosity to the skin and it’s a perfect shade for light to medium skin tones. Dusty pink blusher that makes it look like you’re glowing from within? Yes, please. I’m very much a huge fan of Rockateur.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Bow N Arrow | £17 | Debenhams |
KVD liquid lipsticks are up there with my favourite formula, and I’ve wanted to add Bow N Arrow to my collection for quite a while so glad it’s finally mine. It’s described as a ‘fawn nude’ but it certainly pulls more towards brown and is a bit darker than what I’d typically class as nude, on my pale skin. It’s extremely pigmented, long-wearing and doesn’t transfer. It’s a beautiful shade and I’d highly recommend if you’re in the market for a new lipstick.
The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid – Paris Peony | £6 | The Body Shop |
This colour is everything! I won all 12 of TBS liquid lipsticks a while back and thought I’d worn all the shades but I don’t recall trying this until the other week, and oh my days – I love it. Paris Peony is a true medium pink that reminds me of Kat Von D’s – Mother. It takes a few layers to gain full opacity but once it’s on, it doesn’t budge. I can’t believe how amazing these are for £6. Go and get them immediately.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Colour Correcting Fluid | £19 | Urban Decay |
I’m shocked at how much I love this, and how well it covers my dark circles. I always have to wear concealer because my eye bags are ridiculous but lately I’ve just put this on and left the house. It does a really good job at colour correcting the darkness around my eyes and I love how well it complements my fair skin. I even use it as an eyeshadow primer as I have extremely veiny lids. The consistency is really thin and doesn’t dry out my skin.
I love the look of blusher, especially because it seems like the effects from the pan are so subtle on the cheeks 😀

I still need that UD concealer. Also my KVD liquid lipstick collection definitely needs expanding. 2 is not enough. So jealous of your new phone. I have to wait until october and mines a pile of shit
