A few years ago I didn’t own a lip liner, let alone use one but now I can’t wear a lipstick without it. No, I’m not exaggerating or being dramatic (although they are my go-to settings), I really can’t do my lippie without lining my lips.
I’ve tried quite a lot of liners; various prices, brands and formulas, and although I’ve accumulated a rather large collection I have four high end lip liners that I use more than any other.
Using a lip liner means I can perfect the shape of my pout, make the lines symmetrical, and basically colour within the lines I’ve drawn. I also find that they make some lipsticks last longer, will stain the lips if the lippie wears off and prevent it from bleeding.
My top 4 lip liners are:
- Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil | £15.50 | Mac |
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil | £14.50 | Urban Decay
- Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat | £16 | Charlotte Tilbury
- Nars Velvet Lip Liner | £18 | Nars |
The above are my favourites because they’re really creamy, don’t tug on the lips, are long-wearing, pigmented and non-drying.
Mac and Urban Decay have a massive selection of shades available, and I’m pretty sure you could find a colour to match any lipstick. I much prefer Mac Pro Longwear pencil to their lead lip pencil as they’re much softer and easier to work with.
If you’ve not tried any of these lip liners, I highly recommend them. Urban Decay liners are the cheapest out of the bunch and to be honest, they’re probably my favourite out of the four. Go fourth and line yo lips.
